Thankyou to everybody that came to our September Open Day. We're getting closer to the end of the year now and we've got lots of things coming up for our last three open days of 2016!
Those that came to visit in September will have encountered the members of the 21. Infanterie-Division living history group, who were set up in their display area near the London Blitz Experience. They will be with us again for our next two open days on Sunday 30th October and Sunday 27th November.
With the nights growing longer and the witching hour drawing near, we will be raffling off a homemade Halloween cake on Sunday 30th October.
For our final two open days of 2016, we will have our Christmas decorations out for our 1940s Christmas House event. This will be on Sunday 27th November and Sunday 4th December. Come and get in the festive spirit! We will be holding other little events over the two open days, including a tombola and raffling off a homemade gingerbread house on our November Open Day. Check back closer to the time to find out what will be happening on our open day in December.
That's almost all for this update, except for one final appeal - the 1940s Experience needs you! We are looking for a working, old-fashioned, upright manual typewriter to go on display. We are also in need of some dressmakers dummies so that we can display some more of the clothing in our collections. If you, or anyone you know, have either of these items that are no longer used, we would be happy to give them a home in our displays. Please contact the centre office at 01923 233841, by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or pop along to one of our open days.
That's all for now. We hope to see you on our next open day, Sunday 30th October 2016!
Until next time.
